Privacy Policy

Account information. Your name, email address, and password (hashed, we can't read it). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from Google. We don't get your Google password.

Your resume. When you upload a resume, we extract the text content (work history, skills, education) and store it as structured data on your profile. We do not retain the original file. The extracted information is used to personalize outreach messages and identify shared background with contacts.

Job postings you add. The raw text you paste from job listings. We parse this into structured fields (company, title, requirements, hiring manager persona) and store it in your account.

AI-generated content. Discovered contacts, research briefs, outreach strategies, and email drafts that the tool produces for you. All of this is stored in your account and visible only to you.

Usage data. Which features you use and when, for the purpose of understanding how the product works and where it breaks. We don't track you across other websites.

Everything we collect serves one purpose: helping you find and reach out to hiring managers.

Your resume text and job posting data are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to power the AI features (parsing jobs, discovering contacts, researching people, drafting emails). Anthropic processes this data according to their own privacy policy and does not use API inputs to train their models.

We don't use your data for advertising. We don't build profiles about you for marketing purposes. We don't share your information with data brokers.

If you sign in with Google, we access only your basic profile information: name, email address, and profile picture. We use this solely to create and authenticate your FoxHire account.

We do not access your Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, contacts, or any other Google service. We do not request any Google API scopes beyond basic sign-in.

Your Google account data is not shared with any third party other than what's described in this policy. We do not use Google account data to serve ads, and we do not transfer it to third parties for purposes unrelated to providing FoxHire's functionality.

FoxHire's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Anthropic (Claude API). Your resume text, job posting text, and contact names are sent to Claude for AI processing. Anthropic's API data policy states that they do not train on API inputs. See Anthropic's privacy policy.

Fly.io. Our hosting provider. Your data sits on their infrastructure. See Fly.io's privacy policy.

That's it. There are no analytics platforms, ad networks, or other third-party services receiving your data as of this writing.

Your data stays in your account as long as your account exists. We don't have a practice of purging inactive accounts, but we reserve the right to do so with notice after extended inactivity (12+ months).

You can delete your account at any time. When you do, we permanently delete all data associated with your account: your profile, resume data, job postings, discovered contacts, email drafts, and activity history. This deletion is not reversible.

If you want your data deleted but can't access your account, email [email protected] and we'll handle it manually.

Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. All traffic is encrypted in transit via HTTPS. Authentication uses signed JWT tokens. We're a small operation, not a bank. We take reasonable steps to protect your data but cannot guarantee absolute security. If we ever discover a breach that affects your information, we'll notify you.

FoxHire uses a JWT token stored in your browser's local storage for authentication. We don't use tracking cookies. If you sign in with Google, Google may set its own cookies during the sign-in flow per their own policies.

FoxHire is not intended for anyone under 16. We don't knowingly collect data from children. If you're a parent and believe your child has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.

If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we'll notify active users by email. Minor wording changes won't trigger a notification, but the "last updated" date at the top will always reflect the latest revision.
